Hello Desiree & Tom –
I wanted to write both of you a quick note and let you know how much I have enjoyed utilizing your book for my training. I purchased the book in April to begin my training for four Olympic distances, two Half Ironman distances and one full Ironman distance triathlons this year.
My first Olympic distance race was in May and my swim time for 1,500 meter swim was 46 minutes. I guess that I didn’t mention that I don’t do these events to win, but to enjoy the journey and lose weight. My next event was June 29 (Buffalo Springs Half which I was hoping to meet Desiree). I got out of the water and my swim time was 46 minutes (10 minutes better than my Florida Half the prior year). Needless to say, I thought my watch was broken or maybe it failed during the swim. I just completed my fifth race of the season in Virginia (an Olympic distance event) and to my amazement my swim time was 31 minutes.
I attribute this success to your training events. I am swimming three times a week at least 3,300 yards per swim. The best part of this is that I am finally gaining some confidence in my swim. I always have the book open by the pool with my training and I have had numerous people ask me about the book. I tell them of my success and how much I have benefited from your training tips and advice. I know of several people that have purchased the book only because it is waterproof and they need something to refer to while they are swimming.
Anyway, I just wanted to take a few moments and express my gratitude for your training tips. I am convinced that it has been the single best resource that I have had during my training.
Sincerely,
Brett H. Morgan

"The book is great -- and a refreshing break from the run-of-the-mill training books." --Cameron Elford, Managing Editor, Inside Triathlon Magazine

"I would highly recommend this training guide to all levels of triathletes. I've been competing in tris for 5 years and am always looking for new and exciting workouts. Look no further than this easy to follow, WATERPROOF, training book. I've used many books for assistance over the years and this one is one of the best. This book goes everywhere with me. To the pool, on a stand next to my bike trainer and beside me on the treadmill, I'm never without my Waterproof Triathlete. If you are new to the sport or a tri vet pick this book up and you won't ever have to search for ideas of workouts again." --Luke Witkowski

"This book is a great training tool for triathletes. It has such a variety of workouts- speed, distance, endurance, etc. This could be very useful for those who do not have a coach- just open the book, pick out a workout and go. The book does live up to it's waterproof name. I tested it by dunking into the pool- did not affect the book at all! Add some variety to your training- get this book!" --Aimee Shuey

"Wow, there are some really creative workouts in this book!" --Christy Underdonk, overall winner: Make-a-Wish Triathlon (2001)

“A great tool for keeping work-outs fresh, and fun.” --Leigh Fulwood, Union Cycliste Internationale Elite Cyclist

"What a fun book, great workouts. Thank you very much!" --TriRacer
